We spoke to Masterslave Fashion Designer Eleni Kondos to learn more about her entry into the Ragtrade and her advice to making it in the fashion industry...
Masterslave is well known for the design of custom made designer eveningwear, costumes and celebrity red carpet designer pieces. Eleni has designed red carpet, bridal and media pieces for clients including Shannon Noll, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.
Some of her latest pieces include the wedding dress for Jules Egan, recently married to Idol Winner Guy Sebastian and the black tulle dress worn by Delta in her recent ‘In this life' video clip.
Eleni started her career in the wardrobe department at Channel 7, working as an Assistant Designer. She now runs a successful business with her business partner Roderick Ng in Sydney's Darlinghurst. They design one off pieces for both men and women and are synonymous for their inspirational fabrics, embroideries and sumptuous designs.
Today Eleni is inspired by Karl Lagerfeld for his ‘creativity and longevity in the fashion business.' So what's Eleni's advice to making it in fashion...? "Be humble and work hard. Learn as much as you can and never give up".
